Philips Xitanium – Constant Current LED Drivers (short overview)

The Philips Xitanium series represents a line of high-quality power supplies, specifically designed for built-in use in indoor lighting applications, such as offices, public buildings, industrial facilities, and retail environments.

Reliability is a key feature, backed by a 5-year warranty. These drivers are designed for long operational hours, often reaching 50,000 to 100,000 hours of specified lifetime. To ensure stable light output and high quality of illumination, Xitanium drivers utilize Amplitude Modulation (AM) dimming. AM dimming guarantees the most smooth and flicker-free operation across the entire dimming range.

A fundamental feature enabling flexibility in luminaire design is the Adjustable Output Current (AOC). AOC allows for precise setting of the output current, which accommodates various LED configurations from different manufacturers. Current adjustment is possible using an external setting resistor (such as Rset or LEDset) or by configuring the driver via the MultiOne software.

Xitanium power supply offer extensive control options, including DALI, Touch and Dim (TD), 1-10V dimming, and Wireless MasterConnect (MC) drivers.

These premium components include advanced safeguards such as open-load protection, short-circuit protection, and overpower protection (OPP). Furthermore, the Module Temperature Protection (MTP) feature is included to protect the connected LED module from overheating. MTP regulates the temperature by automatically reducing the output current when a predefined temperature threshold is exceeded. Xitanium drivers also support central DC emergency operation. The configurable DC Emergency Dimming (DCemDim) function automatically reduces the light level to a pre-defined value (default 15%) when switched to a DC emergency grid.
